  • 1:45 – 2:45 PM – Tour the Harvey Media Center to explore a state-of-the-art media facility
  • 1:45 – 2:45 PM – Join the Office of Sustainability on a campus tour to learn how WashU is addressing climate change and environmental degradation through everyday decisions in their community.
  • 3:00 – 4:00 PM – Join the Center for Diversity and Inclusion (CDI) to learn how they support and advocate for students from traditionally under-represented populations and how they work to create collaborative partnerships on campus and in the community to promote social change.
  • 3:00 – 4:00 PM – Tour the Kemper Art Museum with WashU students to explore the Museum’s renowned permanent collection and special exhibitions.
  • 3:00-4:00 PM – Join the Skandalaris Center for Interdisciplinary Innovation and Entrepreneurship to engage in a design-thinking workshop to tackle problem solving in new and creative ways. Entrepreneurship is where world problems are solved and where local needs are met.

Service Project: Operation Food Search is a St. Louis-based non-profit organization dedicated to meeting the needs of local residents to address issues of hunger and they are dedicated to working with community to build a healthy and vibrant region. They distribute over $35 million worth of food and necessities to 330 community partners in 31 MO and IL counties, including the city of St. Louis.Participants of this Pre-Conference Institute will support this organization by engaging in a service project from 2:00 to 4:30.  4:30 – 6:00 PM  “Forward Through Ferguson” Panel – Comprised of brokers of racial  equity in Ferguson, panel participants will share their experience in  Ferguson and with the development of the Ferguson Commission, who  issued the report titled “Forward through Ferguson: A Path Toward  Racial Equity” Submit a question

 6:30 – 8:00 PM  Oxfam Jam: Experience an open mic night of music, poetry, and the  power of people against poverty. We invite you to attend or perform in  the Oxfam Jam at the IMPACT conference. Sign up to perform
